I wanna see these AP logs, as I find it hard to believe that you are running 9's for AFR between shifts because your BOV is VTA. Maybe mid 10's (10.4-5), but if your actually seeing 9's between shifts, you might want to start looking somewhere else for you AFR problems.

unfortunately the boost reader on the HKS BOV is 1/4 inch, while the stock BOV and even the GFB are 3/8 i believe. So needless to say, the stock boost line didnt fit. I went to lowes and picked up some 1/4 tubing, and built my own little adapter using the T adapter that came w/ the HKS bov.

Like you said, the trick is to gently crush the BOV to increase the spring inside the BOV. The idea is by crushing the spring, you hold a higher boost levels like 20+ psi. The 1st gen DSM has a real metal BOV, just like the WRX.

The look aspect is cool to but, I was thinking of it as a track or autocross stand point maybe sace some weight from the stock wing but still have a wing in its place that weighs a little less but provides down force, without having to spend an immense amount on a spoiler.

I have head good things about the COBB BOV. Read many good reviews on it on the EVO X. I myself am using the stocker crushed about a nickel's thickness, but I will crush it a bit more to be on the safe side with my EF2. Only downfall of crushing it is that you might get some flutter at LOW RPM's, but its cheap and effective.
