The web thickness of a drill increases as the drill is re-sharpened. If the drills are not too badly worn when they come to the cutter grind department for resharpening, you can generally get 3 or 4 resharpenings to each thinning operation. Proper web thinning will reduce the amount of torque required for the drilling job.
